Riyadh Air has announced it will add Cairo, Egypt to its network with daily flights.

While more details such as the flight schedule and launch date were not mentioned, Riyadh Air stated it will use its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft on the newly announced route.

Riyadh Air had announced plans to launch flights to London and Dubai ahead of the launch of this announcement. The new Riyadh-Cairo route will serve the large travel demand between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

According to Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), 2.7 million passengers traveled between Riyadh and Cairo last year – the third busiest route to/from the Kingdom.

"The launch of our commercial service to Cairo marks a true beginning of our journey to connect Riyadh to the world, and the world to Riyadh,” said Tony Douglas, CEO, Riyadh Air. “This route has been carefully selected to serve a key market that aligns with our ambition to become a global destination and a significant contributor to Vision 2030. We look forward to welcoming our guests aboard our state-of-the-art Dreamliners to experience our distinctive Saudi hospitality and redefine the future of air travel."

Riyadh Air further stated its network expansion will continue at an accelerated pace, with plans to reach over 100 destinations by 2030.
