Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) will expand its intercontinental network with a return to India as it plans to launch flights between Copenhagen and Mumbai next year.
Starting June 2, 2026, SAS will launch a new five-times weekly (outbound: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday/return: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday) service on the Copenhagen-Mumbai route. SAS will use Airbus A330 aircraft on the new route.
“India is a key global market — both in terms of growing demand and economic importance. With this new route, SAS contributes to strengthening Copenhagen’s role as a global hub while supporting increased connectivity between India and Northern Europe, as well as between India and North America,” says Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS. “Mumbai is a natural next step in our strategy to link Scandinavia with one of the world’s most important regions for business and leisure travel.”
According to SAS, the Copenhagen-Mumbai flights are designed for smooth transfers to/from major destinations in Scandinavia, Europe, and North America – including New York, Boston, and Toronto. The flight schedules will offer “very good” connecting times for travelers heading to/from India.
SAS previously operated flights between Copenhagen and Delhi in 2009.
