STARLUX is Prague, Czech Republic as its first destination in Europe.

In a release from Prague Airport, STARLUX will launch its new Taipei Taoyuan-Prague Vaclav Havel route with three weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) starting August 1. The airline will then increase its flights on the route to four-times weekly (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) from October.

STARLUX will use Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the new long-haul route featuring 306 seats in a four-class configuration with First Class, Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy.

"We are pleased to welcome a new carrier, STARLUX Airlines, to our airport's partner pool. Moreover, Prague is the first European destination to which the airline will fly on a regular basis. We greatly appreciate this new partnership and are convinced that the new regular service will contribute to the further development of tourism between the Czech Republic and Taiwan. According to our estimates, the new route could be used by more than 95,000 passengers in both directions during its first year of operation,” said Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors.

We are pleased to launch our Prague route as STARLUX Airlines’ first destination in Europe, made possible through extensive preparation and the strong support of our partners, and we sincerely thank Prague Airport for its assistance,” said Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX Airlines. “Prague is a long-favored destination for Taiwanese travelers, and growing semiconductor industry ties are expected to further drive demand between Taiwan and the Czech Republic. With Taiwan serving as a convenient hub in Asia, our extensive Asian network will provide seamless connections to major cities across the region, while our all next-generation Airbus fleet delivers a premium, five-senses travel experience,” added Glenn Chai, CEO and General Manager, STARLUX.

Covering a distance of around 9060 kilometers, the flight time is expected to take between 11 to 12 hours each way.

STARLUX will compete with China Airlines which currently operates two weekly flights between Taipei and Prague.
