From June 1, STARLUX will launch direct flights from both Taipei Taoyuan and Taichung to Busan. Flights will be operated daily between Taipei and Busan, while the Taichung-Busan route will be operated three-times weekly.
According to STARLUX, ticket sales on the two new routes will go on sale starting Thursday (February 26).
The new routes between Taiwan and South Korea that will be introduced by STARLUX will boost add to its network which consists of 37 routes to 31 cities in North America and Asia. STARLUX will launch flights to Prague – its first destination in Europe – starting August 1.
Eight airlines are currently operating flights between Taipei and Busan EVA Air, China Airlines, Air Busan, Tigerair Taiwan, Jin Air, Eastar Jet, Jeju Air, and Korean Air. Air Busan and Jeju Air operates flights from Busan to Kaoshiung in Southern Taiwan. STARLUX will be the first and only airline to offer flights from Taichung to Busan.
During the year 2025, South Korea was the third biggest source of tourists to Taiwan accounting for 11.9% of inbound tourists to the country (1.016 million). South Korea was also the third biggest outbound destination from Taiwan with 1.835 million travelers (9.7% of outbound travelers).
