STARLUX Airlines announced the launch of its own non-stop flights to Phoenix, Arizona starting next year.
Following China Airlines' announcement of its plans to launch its own flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Phoenix Sky from December 3, STARLUX will operate three weekly flights (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday) on the route from January 15, 2026. Services will then be increased to four-times weekly (Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) from March 2026.
Previously, Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego first revealed STARLUX's plans to launch flights to the city in late May.
STARLUX will use its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the route, which the airline states will offer customers a direct flight option compared to lengthy connections via San Francisco and Los Angeles.
In a statement, STARLUX CEO Glenn Chai highlighted and potential for business and leisure travel to/from Phoenix – the fifth largest city in the US. Chai also referred to the presence of one of Taiwan's biggest companies – Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) – in the city.
“This new route will meet the growing travel demand be-tween the two regions and reinforces STARLUX commitment to fostering meaningful connections across the Pacifc,” Chai said.
With the addition of Phoenix, STARLUX will offer flights to five destinations in the US. From Taipei, the airline currently operates flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Ontario.
