Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Garuda Indonesia are expanding their commercial cooperation next month, with the launch of joint sales of fare products, additional codeshare destinations, and reciprocal lounge access.

From August, customers of both Singaporean and Indonesian flag carriers will be able to book flights operated by each other between Singapore and Indonesia on a single itinerary.

The codeshare arrangement between the two carriers will be expanded with Garuda Indonesia gaining access to four additional destinations on Singapore Airlines' network– three in India (Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Delhi), and Male in the Maldives. In return, Singapore Airlines' customers will be able to make onward connections on Garuda Indonesia-operated flights from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo, and three routes from Jakarta (Labuan Bajo, Lombok, and Manado).

Customers will still be able to enjoy existing codeshare options on both carriers between Singapore and Denpasar, Jakarta, and Surabaya in Indonesia along with Singapore Airlines' operated flights to London-Heathrow and Mumbai.

From mid-August, members of both carriers' frequent flyer programs – GarudaMiles and KrisFlyer – will enjoy reciprocal lounge access (Garuda Executive, KrisFlyer Gold, and Business Class SilverKris lounges) when travelling between Singapore and Denpasar, Jakarta, and Surabaya. Access will be dependent on frequent flyer status.

Frequent flyer program members will also be able to earn and redeem miles on the new codeshare routes under the frequent flyer partnership launched in February.

“Garuda Indonesia is delighted with this strengthening of our partnership with Singapore Airlines, which reflects our shared commitment to delivering an enhanced and seamless travel experience for our customers,” said Wamildan Tsani, President and CEO, Garuda Indonesia. “With broader connectivity and integrated services, this collaboration also serves as a platform to support stronger bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore.”

“This enhancement of our partnership with Garuda Indonesia offers tangible benefits to our customers through joint sales of fare products, additional codeshare destinations, and improved frequent flyer offerings,” said Goh Choon Phong, Chief Executive Officer, Singapore Airlines. “By working together, we are leveraging our combined strengths to enhance the customer experience and support the growth of air travel between Singapore and Indonesia, and beyond.”

In May, Singapore Airlines increased its flights between Singapore and Jakarta from eight to nine daily. Garuda Indonesia plans to operate seven daily flights on the route starting in the fourth quarter 2025 subject to regulatory approval and operational consideration. Garuda plans to further increase its frequencies in the coming months.
