Singapore Airlines has announced the launch of a codeshare partnership with Vietnam Airlines covering flights between Singapore and Vietnam.


From October 26, Singapore Airlines will place its SQ flight code on Vietnam Airlines-operated flights between Singapore and two cities in Vietnam – Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. In return, Vietnam Airlines will place its VN flight code on Singapore Airlines-operated flights from Singapore to both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City along with Da Nang.


The codeshare flights will be progressively available for booking with both carriers starting October 10.


According to Singapore Airlines, the agreement will deepen the current partnership between the two carriers while exploring the addition of other destinations on their networks and commercial cooperation.


“The collaboration leverages the extensive route networks and premium services of both airlines, enhancing connectivity between Vietnam and Singapore while delivering greater flexibility and a more seamless travel experience for passengers,” said Nguyen Quang Trung, Director of Corporate Planning and Development, Vietnam Airlines. “For Vietnam Airlines, this partnership not only strengthens our international presence but also supports our commitment to aligning with world-class service standards.”


Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines added: “Our codeshare partnership with Vietnam Airlines is an important step in strengthening connectivity between Singapore and Vietnam. By leveraging our respective networks, we can offer customers more choice, greater flexibility, and seamless transfers across our services between the two countries.”


The new codeshare partnership will add to Singapore Airlines collaborations with other ASEAN-based carriers. The airline currently partnerships with Garuda Indonesia, Malaysia Airlines, and Philippine Airlines.
