Passenger traffic at Singapore Changi Airport climbed to a record high of nearly 70 million passengers, and 13 new destinations added during the previous year (2025).
In a statement, airport operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) reported 69.98 million passenger movements in 2025 – a 3.4% increase compared to 2024 (67.7 million). It also surpasses the 68.3 million served before the pandemic in 2019.
According to the CAG, the top five passenger markets at the airport during 2025 was China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, and India. The China market saw a 12.2% increase compared to 2024. Vietnam and Japan also saw increases of 9.8% and 7% respectively. The busiest routes were to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Denpasar (Bali), and Hong Kong.
Aircraft movements at Changi Airport increased to 374,000 movements last year, up 2.2% from 2024 (366,000 tonnes).
The airport operator said it had “one of the best cargo performances in Changi Airport's history” in 2025. Changi Airport reported a cargo throughput totalling 2.08 milion tonnes of cargo handled last year. The growth was seen across exports, imports, and transshipments attributed to front-loading activities during the first three quarters of the year, and strong global semiconductors demand on the back of AI, electric vehicles, and cleantech growth. The top five air cargo markets were China, the US, Australia, Hong Kong, and India with the top three growth markets China, the US, and Taiwan.
In addition, the Changi Airport saw a record 13 new destinations to its network in 2025. Two new airlines launched flights to Singapore last year – MIAT Mongolian Airlines and Pelita Air.
Yam Kum Weng, Chief Executive Officer of CAG said: “2025 was a strong year for Changi Airport as an air hub. We recorded our highest-ever passenger traffic, expanded our network with a record number of new city links and achieved a strong performance in air cargo amid a volatile global environment. This would not have been possible without the strong collaboration of our airline partners, which we are deeply grateful for.”
“As travel demand in Asia grows, Changi is actively seeking to expand its network in the region, including emerging secondary cities which are witnessing rapid economic and promising tourism developments. As we enter 2026, we look forward to creating new opportunities for airlines and businesses. CAG will also continue to enhance the experience of travellers through greater innovation to deliver higher efficiencies and more seamless operations. Our goal is to ensure that Changi stays at the forefront of aviation, offering travellers exceptional airport experiences while serving as a key gateway to the region,” Yam added.
As of January 2026, Changi Airport serves 100 airlines connecting Singapore to over 170 cities in 50 countries and territories with more than 7,300 weekly scheduled flights.
