South Korean budget carrier Parata Air (formerly Fly Gangwon) filed an application with the US Department of Transportation (US DOT) seeking to launch flights to the United States (US).

According to its filing, Parata Air intends to launch its flights to the US next summer (summer 2026) using widebody Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The initial routes will include services between Seoul Incheon to both Los Angeles and Las Vegas. Other destinations are under consideration.

“[The carrier] plans to commence operations on March 29, 2026, for the S26 season, using Airbus A330-200 aircraft,” Parata Air's filing stated, noting that Parata Air “may further develop additional routes in the future.”

First established as Fly Yangyang in 2016, the airline then changed its name to Fly Gangwon the following year. The airline suspended operations amid financial difficulties and bankruptcy in 2023 before being acquired by South Korea-based Winix Inc.

Operating from the city of Yangyang, Parata Air currently operates domestic flights to Jeju Island and Seoul Gimpo. The airline's fleet currently comprises of 1 Airbus A320 and 2 A330-200s with more aircraft to be delivered.
