Following the launch of its historic route to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from Tokyo, United will launch its flights from Tokyo Narita Airport to Kaoshiung, Taiwan in July; and Koror, Palau this October.

According to the Narita International Airport Corporation (NAA), United will launch daily flights between Narita and Kaoshiung starting July 11. Operating as UA837, the outbound flight will depart Narita at 1730H and arrive at Kaoshiung at 2100H. The return flight will depart the following morning at 1025H and arrive back at Narita at 1515H.

Separately, the Office of the President of the Republic of Palau announced that United's new Narita-Koror service will start on October 29.

“We welcome United Airlines and this new route, which restores a critical route after Delta Airlines withdrew from the region,” said Palau President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr. in a statement.  “These twice-weekly flights will restore a vital bridge in the sky bringing pristine paradise Palau closer to Japan and strengthening connections between our two nations.”

The Palau President's office stated United will provide flight schedules and other information in the coming days. The return of flights between Narita and Koror is expected to boost Palau's tourism industry. The Palau Visitor Authority reported the Japan market was the island nation's third largest market (18.2%) during the month of March.

Delta Airlines previously operated flights between Narita and Koror until 2015.

From Narita, United operates flights to five of its US mainland hubs in the US (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Houston Intercontinental, and Newark) and four intra-Asia/Pacific routes (Guam, Saipan, Cebu, and Ulaanbaatar). United uses Boeing 737-800 on its intra-Asia/Pacific routes from Narita.
