Vietjet has announced an order for 100 narrowbody Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Vietjet has announced an order for 100 narrowbody Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Announced during the Paris Airshow 2025, Vietjet signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus for the 100 single-aisle Airbus jets. The airline will also have options for 50 more in the future.

The latest order follows Vietjet's order for 20 additional A330neo aircraft which doubles its order for the widebody aircraft to 40. Vietjet first announced its initial order for the A330neos in 2024.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, said: “Together the A321neo and A330neo will be perfect partners for Vietjet to continue to spread its wings, efficiently matching capacity more closely to demand across its network. The airline will also benefit from the high levels of technical commonality that are unique to latest generation Airbus aircraft.”

Currently with a fleet of around 120 aircraft, Vietjet has more than 400 aircraft on order.

During the signing of the MoU, Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao said: “Today’s agreement with Airbus is more than a commercial contract—it is a significant milestone that marks the beginning of Vietjet’s new journey: a journey of global expansion, new growth drivers, enhanced connectivity, and the development of a sustainable aviation ecosystem powered by ambition and transformation.”

According to Airbus, 90 customers worldwide have ordered more than 7000 A321neo aircraft as of the end of May 2025.
