Vietjet announced plans to launch a new Kazakhstan-based branded airline – Vietjet Qazaqstan.

During the recent Kazakhstan-Vietnam Business Roundtable held at Kazakhstan's capital Astana, Vietjet received a Foreign Investment Registration Certificate to Aviation Holdings – a subsidiary of Vietjet - by Vietnam's Ministry of Finance. The certificate authorizes the acquisition of a strategic equity stake in Kazakhstan-based Qazaq Air.

Under the partnership, Vietjet and Qazaq Air will jointly develop and operate a new  budget airline brand – Vietjet Qazaqstan. The new airline will become a strategic air bridge connecting Kazakhastan with Vietnam, Southeast Asia, and global aviation hubs.

According to Vietjet and Qazaq Air, Vietjet Qazaqstan will operate a fleet of at least 20 Boeing 737 aircraft. During the event, Vietjet Qazaqstan and Boeing signed a Customer Services General Terms Agreement to support the future airline's 737 fleet including software solutions, spare parts, technical assistance, as well as training programs for pilots and engineers. The partnership also covers aircraft modifications and upgrades to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Vietjet Qazaqstan will be Vietjet's second airline brand beyond Vietnam. The airline also developed Vietjet Thailand.
