Vietjet will resume flights to Con Dao in southern Vietnam using the China-made COMAC C909 aircraft.

Using the C909 (formerly the ARJ-21), Vietjet will operate one daily flight to Con Dao from Hanoi and another separate daily flight from Ho Chi Minh City. Frequencies on both routes will increase to two daily flights from December 15.

Acquired through a six-month lease from Chengdu Airlines, the C909s (registered B-652G and B-656E) were first operated by Vietjet to Con Dao from April until October. The aircraft were acquired to operate on the short runway at Con Dao - an island located off the coast of southern Vietnam.

The two C909s have 90 seats in an all-Economy Class configuration.
