Vietnam Airlines will add a new route connecting Hanoi and Amsterdam – the first non-stop route between Vietnam and the Netherlands this summer.

From June 16, the new Hanoi-Amsterdam route will be operated using Airbus A350 aircraft three-times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). According to Vietnam Airlines, the flights will be timed to support onward connections to cities in Vietnam and Asia such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc.

“The introduction of the nonstop Hanoi-Amsterdam service represents a key milestone in our European network development,” says Nguyen Quang Trung, executive vice president of Vietnam Airlines. “Establishing operations at one of the world’s leading hubs not only creates new growth opportunities for Vietnam Airlines, but also contributes to deeper economic, trade, investment and cultural ties between Vietnam, the Netherlands and Europe as a whole.”

According to data from Sabre Market Intelligence, Origin and Destination traffic between Vietnam and the Netherlands reached about 122,100 two-way passengers in the 12 months to June 2025 – a 14% year-on-year increase. All traffic was indirect with the top transit points at Dubai, Istanbul, and Doha. 57,000 passengers traveled between Hanoi and Amsterdam which had a 19% year-on-year growth.

With the addition of Amsterdam, Vietnam Airlines' network in Europe includes 12 routes to Europe. The airline currently operates flights to Paris, Frankfurt, London-Heathrow, Munich, Milan, Copenhagen, and Moscow.
