Dubai-based budget carrier flydubai announced it will launch new, twice-daily flights to Bangkok starting September 15.


From Dubai, the twice-daily flights to Bangkok Don Mueang Airport will add to flydubai's services to Thailand. The airline currently operates two daily flights to Krabi using Boeing 737-8 (737 MAX 8) aircraft. Combined, flydubai will offer a total of 28 weekly flights between Dubai and Thailand.

Located north of the city center of Bangkok, Don Mueang Airport is one of the two international hubs primarily serving. The older of the two Bangkok-area hubs primarily serves budget carrier flights to/from the capital city of Thailand. 


In a statement, Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer at flydubai, said: “The launch of our double-daily service to Bangkok reflects continued demand across our network and underscores our commitment to providing our customers with more convenient and flexible travel options.”


Sudhir Sreedharan, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at flydubai added: “We are pleased to strengthen our presence in Thailand with the launch of double-daily flights to Bangkok and look forward to welcoming passengers on board to enjoy a comfortable experience in Economy Class or Business Class as they travel to Thailand’s vibrant capital.” 


Bangkok will be flydubai's fourth destination in Southeast Asia along with Krabi (Thailand), Langkawi and Penang (Malaysia). 


flydubai's network now covers more than 135 destinations in 58 countries across Africa, Central Asia, the Caucasus, Central and South-East Europe, the GCC and the Middle East, South Asia and South-East Asia.  


The new route from Dubai will be the third to the Middle East to Don Mueang Airport. Flights are operated from Don Mueang to Tehran by Mahan Air and Riyadh by Thai AirAsia X.
