Singapore Airlines (SIA) will continue to operate and maintain five Singapore-based Boeing 777 Freighters (777F) for logistics company DHL Express for another five years.
Under the agreement, the Singaporean flag carrier’s pilots will continue to operate the 777Fs while SIA engineers will maintain the freighter aircraft that features a dual DHL/SIA livery through 2031. It continues the partnership which started in 2022, supporting DHL’s intercontinental air network. Registered in Singapore, each of the 777Fs can carry up to 102 tonnes of cargo.
“The renewal of this agreement underlines our commitment to building and investing in the network capacity that keeps global trade moving,” said Travis Cobb, DHL Express’ Executive Vice President for Network Operations and Aviation. “These five Boeing 777 freighters have become an integral part of our intercontinental operations, helping our customers move time-definite shipments with speed and reliability. Singapore remains one of the world's leading air logistics hubs, and together with Singapore Airlines' proven operational expertise, gives us the strong foundation for enabling international trade and connecting businesses to global markets.”
“The renewal of our agreement with DHL Express reflects the strength and continuity of our partnership, which has supported the movement of express air freight between the Asia-Pacific region and key global markets via Singapore since 2022,” added Le Lik Hsin, Singapore Airlines’ Chief Commercial Officer. “This partnership leverages SIA’s operational expertise and DHL Express' global logistics network to reinforce Singapore's role as a leading air freight hub, particularly in the e-commerce segment.”
Since December 2023, the DHL/SIA 777Fs have been operating on cargo routes including Singapore-Bangkok/Taipei-Incheon/Nagoya-Cincinnati-Honolulu-Sydney-Singapore, along with Singapore-Nagoya-Los Angeles-Honolulu-Singapore.
The five DHL/SIA 777Fs are part of DHL’s overall fleet of 34 777Fs operating globally. SIA is one of DHL’s partners operating the DHL 777Fs including AeroLogic, Central Airlines, DHL Air UK, Kalitta Air, and Polar Air Cargo.
