Air Canada to expand flights to India during winter season, launch new Montreal-Mumbai route

This winter, Air Canada will expand its presence to India during the winter 2024 season (October 2024-March 2025) which will see the carrier launch the only non-stop flights between Canada and India's financial capital Mumbai.


The Montreal-based carrier announced its strategic expansion of its international network to India which will include a new non-stop route from Toronto to Mumbai starting October 27. As the only non-stop route between Canada and Mumbai, Air Canada will operate four weekly flights using Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. According to Air Canada, the schedule for the Toronto-Mumbai route will offer convenient connections across North America to/from Air Canada's primary hub.


Between Montreal and Delhi, Air Canada will increase its flight frequencies from three-times weekly to daily.


Air Canada will introduce a new seasonal daily flight from Calgary to Delhi via London-Heathrow using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The airline's Vancouver-Heathrow flights will be timed to offer convenient connections onto the Heathrow-Delhi segment.

With the additional flights, Air Canada reports it will be adding 40% more seat capacity to India during the winter season. The airline will operate 25 weekly flights offering 7400 seats during the winter between Canada and India.
