The Domestic facilities at Kansai International Airport (KIX) Terminal 2 will reopen on April 1 following its renovation.



The Domestic facilities at Kansai International Airport (KIX) Terminal 2 will reopen on April 1 following its renovation.  


Airport operator Kansai Airports announced the renovated Terminal 2 Domestic facilities will introduce self-baggage drop machines and expanded security checkpoints. Three 20-meter smart lanes for faster boarding procedures will also be opened. The expanded boarding lounge will feature a new food court, and the existing souvenir shop has been refurbished and will be larger upon reopening.

First opened in 2012, KIX Terminal 2 serves flights operated by budget carriers to/from KIX. Japan-based budget carrier and All Nippon Airways (ANA) subsidiary Peach Aviation operates its domestic flights to/from KIX at Terminal 2.    


The announcement of the reopening of the KIX Terminal 2 facilities comes after a separate announcement of the opening of the new credit card lounge for passengers departing on international flights at KIX Terminal 1 also on April 1.
