Due to ongoing runway repair works at Saipan's airport following the recent Typhoon Sinlaku on the island, Philippine Airlines announced it is suspending its flights to the US Commonwealth in the Western Pacific until June 18.

In an advisory, the Manila-based airline will suspend its twice-weekly Manila-Saipan flights (PR2571/PR2572). Customers on the affected flights have been advised on their rebooking and refund options, as well as the option to reroute through Guam.

“We will coordinate closely with the airport authorities to determine when the airport runway repairs will be completed and ready for the safe resumption of commercial flights.”

The suspension comes just nearly a month after Philippine Airlines launched the Manila-Saipan route on March 29 after an absence of nearly 9 years.
