Air Canada to launch new route to Guangzhou, China

As part of its announcement of new Summer 2027 route additions, Air Canada will launch a new year-round service to Guangzhou, China.

From May 4, Air Canada will operate three weekly flights every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday between its trans-Pacific hub at Vancouver and Guangzhou. Using Boeing 787 aircraft, the return flights departing the following day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). The outbound Vancouver-Guangzhou flight AC77 will depart at 0035H and arrive at 0500H the following day. The return flight AC76 will depart Guangzhou at 0945H and arrive at 0630H.

Guangzhou will be Air Canada’s third destination and fourth route to/from Mainland China, where it will offer up to 24 weekly flights to Beijing (from Vancouver), Shanghai (Vancouver and Toronto), and the new Guangzhou service by next summer. It will be the only North America-based airline to serve the capital of China’s Guangdong Province in the Pearl River Delta.

Along with Guangzhou, Air Canada announced other new routes for the Summer 2027 season including Toronto-Oslo, Toronto-Shannon, Toronto-Nice, Montreal-Basel (Mulhouse), and Montreal-Dubrovnik.

Air Canada’s Asia network from its trans-Pacific hub of Vancouver will grow to 10, where the airline offers non-stop flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Hong Kong, Beijing Capital, Shanghai Pudong, Osaka Kansai, and Tokyo Narita. A winter seasonal service from Vancouver to the Northern Japanese city of Sapporo starting mid-December through March 2027.
