Garuda Indonesia has enhanced its Inflight Entertainment (IFE) system to offer over 100 new titles with more frequent refresh cycles. The Indonesian flag carrier also reported its Wireless IFE is now available on 14 aircraft.
According to Garuda Indonesia, the IFE refresh covers a variety of entertainment options from the latest movies and music selections. The update rounds out a collection of more than 300 entertainment options available to passengers. Each refresh will also now take place every two months, reduced from the current three-month cycle as the airline expands its seatback and Wireless IFE options.
"We build Garuda Indonesia's transformation through service enhancements that stay closer to what our passengers need,” said Garuda Indonesia’s Vice President Director Thomas Oentoro. “Faster content updates and expanded entertainment access are part of that effort. We want our passengers, including those who fly with Garuda Indonesia regularly, to discover new choices that make their journey feel even more comfortable and enjoyable."
Along with the more frequent IFE selection refresh cycles, its Wireless IFE service is now available on 14 aircraft including Boeing 737-800s, 737-8 (737 MAX 8), and widebody Airbus A330-900s (A330neo).
First introduced in 20254, the Bring Your Own Device (DYOD) concept allows passengers to access the IFE selections through personal devices such as mobile phones, tablets, and laptops.
The airline concluded saying: “Through more frequent collection updates and expanded entertainment access, Garuda Indonesia continues to strengthen the quality of the passenger experience onboard, as part of its ongoing service transformation. Going forward, IFE development will continue to be aligned with passenger feedback and technological advances, so that every update adds value to passenger comfort.”
