EVA Air will update its International Baggage Fees and acceptable standards for travel applicable on or after September 29.

“In response to rising aviation fuel prices and increasing operating costs resulting from global economic conditions and geopolitical developments, EVA Air will adjust its international baggage-related fees and acceptance standards for travel on or after September 29, 2026. The adjustments apply to excess baggage, overweight and oversized baggage, pet transportation, sporting equipment, and other special items.”

The excess baggage fees will range from USD $160 to USD $390, depending on origin, destination, and distance to be traveled, charged in accordance with EVA Air’s applicable regulations if the flights are operated by EVA Air/UNI Air, or the Most Significant Carrier (MSC), are determined by EVA/UNI Air only. For travel on multiple flight segments operated by more than one carrier such as Star Alliance partner airlines, the other carrier’s baggage fee policy may apply.

EVA Air’s baggage allowances are no more than 32kg (70lbs) for Royal Laurel/Premium Laurel/Business and 23kg (50lbs) for Premium Economy and Economy. The total linear dimensions of baggage shall not exceed 158cm (62inches) regardless of cabin class.

For sporting equipment and the transportation of a pet, the piece count calculation will be determined based on the date the ticket was issued or reissued. Tickets issued or reissued on or before September 28 for travel on or before March 31, 2027 will remain subject to the previous regulations. Those purchased on or after September 29 will be subject to the updated regulations.

Customers can choose to purchase excess baggage fees with a 10% discount at least four hours before their scheduled departure time.

“Passengers are encouraged to review their applicable baggage allowance and related regulations on EVA Air's official website before departure, complete any necessary arrangements in advance, and take advantage of the prepayment discount for added flexibility and convenience when planning their journeys.”

All baggage fees are to be paid in US Dollars or the local currency, or Canadian Dollars for those departing from Canada.
