Ahead of the Southern Summer (Northern Winter) season, Etihad Airways announced it will operate twice-daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Sydney from December 15.

Currently operating 10 weekly flights on the Abu Dhabi-Sydney route, Etihad will add four more weekly flights providing two daily departures. Each of the flights will use Airbus A350 aircraft, providing over 5,000 seats weekly on the route.

“Double daily flights give our guests even greater flexibility when travelling between Australia and Etihad’s growing global network,” said Arik De, Etihad Chief Revenue & Commercial Officer. “The additional service strengthens connectivity through Abu Dhabi, creating more seamless access to destinations across the Middle East and Europe, while making it easier for travellers to experience Abu Dhabi and discover everything the emirate has to offer as part of their journey.”

Etihad has operated flights to Sydney since 2007. The airline will operate up to 21 weekly flights (three daily flights) to Australia, along with a current daily service between Abu Dhabi and Melbourne.
