Finnair to operate twice-daily flights to Narita next summer

Finnair will increase its flights to Tokyo next summer with a second daily flight to Narita.

The second daily Helsinki-Narita flight will be operated between May 12 and August 14, 2027. Using Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the outbound flight AY71 will depart Helsinkin at 1220H, arriving at Narita at 0715H the following morning. The return flight AY72 will depart at 0855H before arriving back at Helsinki at 1535H.

According to Finnair, the additional flights have been timed to provide smooth onward connections from Japan across its network in Europe. Along with the current daily flights to Narita and another daily service to Haneda, Finnair will operate three daily (21 weekly) flights to Tokyo.

“Japan is our biggest market after Finland, and demand for flights to Japan has remained strong. We have been steadily increasing our capacity to Japan for the past years, and the additional Narita frequencies will allow us to offer our customers greater choice and even more convenient connections to Tokyo, which is by far the most popular of our destinations in Japan,” says Christine Rovelli, Finnair’s Chief Revenue Officer. 

During the summer 2027, Finnair will operate up to 32 weekly flights to Japan. Along with the daily flights to the two Tokyo-area hubs, Finnair also operates daily flights to Osaka Kansai and a seasonal service to Nagoya.
