Summary:

Singapore Airlines’ budget subsidiary Scoot announced it will take on 11 additional Airbus A320neo aircraft.

Singapore Airlines’ budget subsidiary Scoot announced it will take on 11 additional Airbus A320neo family aircraft.

The additional 11 aircraft includes 5 firm orders for A320neo family aircraft and options for an additional six A321neos from an order placed in 2014. Scoot stated the new aircraft will be delivered from 2028.

Powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM (GTF) engines, the new aircraft will feature a single-class configuration with 186 seats on the A320neo and 236 seats on the A321neo.

With the newly announced order, Scoot’s total A320neo family orderbook will increase to 20 aircraft.

“The additional A320neo family aircraft will expand Scoot’s capacity and route deployment flexibility across a five- to six-hour radius, enabling the airline to launch new services and optimise feed into the wider SIA Group network. These capabilities will enhance the depth and breadth of Singapore’s air connectivity between Southeast Asia, North Asia and beyond, reinforcing its standing as a premier global air hub. This growth also reflects confidence in the long-term outlook for air travel, particularly within the Asia-Pacific region.”

The new order is part of Scoot’s fleet renewal. Within its 63 aircraft fleet are 30 A320 family aircraft comprised of 6 A320ceos, 12 A320neos, and 12 A321neos. Scoot plans to phase out the 6 A320ceos by 2028.
