Following its entry to the Philippines in late 2025, Vietjet will expand its network in the country with a new route to Cebu.
Announced during the Vietnam-Philippines Business Forum in Manila on June 1, Vietjet’s new service between Ho Chi Minh City and Cebu will start on December 11 with five weekly flights.
Upon its launch, the new Ho Chi Minh City-Cebu service will double Vietjet’s capacity between Vietnam and the Philippines. The airline previously launched flights on the Ho Chi Minh City-Manila route in November 2025, and charter flights were operated between Da Nang and Davao.
Vietnam Airlines is currently the only airline operating flights to Hanoi from Cebu. Philippine Airlines’ flights from the central Philippine city to Ho Chi Minh City are currently suspended.
According to official Vietnamese statistics, bilateral trade between the Philippines and Vietnam reached USD $7.8 billion in 2025. During the first four months of 2026, Vietnam saw a 73.4% year-on-year increase in visitor arrivals from the Philippines welcoming 236,000 Filipino visitors. The Philippines also recently placed among Vietnam’s top ten sources of international visitor markets for the first time.
