In response to the strong demand after the launch of its Abu Dhabi-Kabul route earlier this year, Etihad announced it will increase its flights on the route to daily from May 1.
Previously launched on March 20 with four weekly flights, the airline will continue operating the daily flights using Airbus A320 aircraft with 158 seats – 8 Business and 150 Economy.
According to Etihad, the additional flights will strengthen connectivity for passengers traveling to/from Kabul via Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport to destinations across Europe and North America such as London, Frankfurt, Charlotte, Toronto, and Washington.
Arik De, Etihad's Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer said: “This expansion reflects our strategic approach to network development, where we deploy capacity in response to market demand while continuing to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s role as a key gateway connecting regional markets with Etihad’s global network.”
The announcement of the service increase to Kabul follows the launch of a seasonal service to Dhaka, Bangladesh starting June 26.
