ITA Airways will increase its flights between Rome and Tokyo to a daily service.

ITA Airways will increase its flights between Rome and Tokyo to a daily service.

In a release, ITA Airways will add two additional weekly flight frequencies on its route between Rome-Fiumicino and Tokyo-Haneda – currently served with five weekly flights by the  Rome, Italy-based carrier – bringing the total number of flights to daily.

The carrier currently uses Airbus A350-900 widebody aircraft.

According to ITA Airways, the service increase is aimed to meet the high customer demand for the route which was inaugurated at the end of 2022.

“The increase in the offer to the Japanese capital is a further confirmation of the excellent results in terms of load factor recorded in 2023 on the route between Tokyo Haneda and Rome Fiumicino, inaugurated at the end of 2022,” the airline said.

The service increase to Tokyo is part of ITA Airways' long- and medium-haul expansion in the current year. From Rome, ITA Airways will launch flights to destinations in North America, Africa, and the Middle East during the summer months including Chicago (April), Toronto and Riyadh (May), Accra and Kuwait (June), Dakar (July), and Jeddah (August).
