Air China to launch new route connecting China and Iceland

Air China will launch the first direct air connection from Mainland China and Asia to Iceland.

From October 26, the Beijing, China-based Star Alliance member carrier will operate three weekly flights between Beijing Capital Airport and Reykjavik Keflavik International Airport via Copenhagen. Air China will use Airbus A330-300 aircraft on the new route.

According to Air China’s website, the outbound flight CA807 will depart Beijing at 0330H. After a 2 hour and 15 minute stop at Copenhagen, the flight will continue and arrive at Reykjavik at 1115H. The return flight CA808 will depart Reykjavik at 1345H before a 2 hour and 35 minute stop at Copenhagen then arrive back at Beijing at 1220H the following day.

Including the stop at Copenhagen, the outbound flight will have a flight time of around 15 hours and 45 minutes, and a shorter 14 hour 35 minutes trip on the return.

Between Beijing and Copenhagen, Air China currently operates 12 weekly flights between the two cities.
