Cebu Pacific increases flights, resumes international routes from Davao

Cebu Pacific will expand its flights on select routes from Davao, and resume international flights from the southern Philippine city. The Manila-based budget carrier will resume its Davao-Hong Kong, and Davao-Bangkok routes in late October.

The first of the two international routes to be resumed from Davao will be to Hong Kong on October 25. Operating four-times weekly (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday), the outbound flight 5J5262 will depart Davao at 0820H and arrive at Hong Kong at 1150H. The return flight 5J5263 will depart Hong Kong at 1235H before arriving back at Davao at 1555H.

Services from Davao to Bangkok Don Mueang will start the following day on October 26 with three weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). The outbound flight 5J5964 will depart Davao for Don Mueang Airport at 1700H and arrive at 2030H. The return flight 5J5965 will depart Don Mueang at 2115H before arriving back at Davao the following morning at 0250H.

In addition to the resumption of its international services from Davao, Cebu Pacific will also increase its flights from the city to Siargao to ten weekly flights, and to Iloilo with 14 weekly.

Cebu Pacific previously suspended its international flights from Davao to Bangkok in April, while the Davao-Hong Kong route was suspended from August 2. The airline cited rising fuel costs due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East as a reason for the route suspensions.

Hong Kong and Bangkok will once again be the third and fourth international routes from Davao. Two airlines currently operates international flights from Davao: Singapore Airlines’ budget subsidiary Scoot to Singapore, and Qatar Airways with its route to Doha.
