Vietnam Airlines is expanding its services to Mainland China with the addition of a new route to Hangzhou from Hanoi next month.
From November 15, Vietnam Airlines will operate four-weekly flights (Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday) using Airbus A321 aircraft on the Hanoi-Hangzhou route.
According to Vietnam Airlines, the new route will give travelers more convenient access to the Chinese city while creating additional opportunities for trade and tourism between Vietnam and China. The airline will now offer flights on seven routes to four cities in Mainland China from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, including Beijing (Beijing-Capital and Daxing Airports), Shanghai Pudong, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou. The airline operates flights to Beijing Daxing Airport from Ho Chi Minh City, while services to Beijing Capital Airport are operated from Hanoi.
Nguyen Quang Trung, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines said: “Despite ongoing market challenges, particularly fuel price fluctuations, bringing the route into operation earlier than planned, in the fourth quarter of 2026, demonstrates the airline’s proactive approach and determination to expand international connectivity.”
The new Hanoi-Hangzhou route will add to Vietnam Airlines’ international expansion during the year 2026. The airline recently launched new routes to Amsterdam, Colombo, Phuket, and Ahmedabad. Services have also been increased to Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei, Kaoshiung, Singapore, Manila, Moscow, Melbourne, and Sydney.
