IndiGo to launch new routes to Bangkok, Dar es Salaam

Indian budget carrier IndiGo recently announced two new routes, including an expansion of its services to Bangkok and a new route to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Announced in separate statements, IndiGo will launch its new direct flights between the Northeast Indian city of Guwahati and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on October 27. Following a special inaugural flight on October 27, the airline will operate two weekly flights (Wednesday and Saturday) on the route from October 31.

The new Guwahati-Bangkok route will add to the airline’s services to Thailand which IndiGo states is one of the most sought-after international destinations for Indian travelers. Indigo operates flights to the capital city of Thailand from Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai. In addition, IndiGo operates direct flights to Phuket from Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai, along with a Delhi-Krabi route. A new route between Gaya and Bangkok will be launched on October 26.

Following the launch of the Guwahati-Bangkok route, the airline will then launch daily flights from Mumbai to Dar es Salaam from November 20. It will add to IndiGo’s presence in Africa where it operates flights to Nairobi, Mauritius, and the Seychelles.

Before the announcement of these two routes, IndiGo also announced the launch of a new route between Mumbai and Hanoi starting October 25. It will add to the airline’s services to Hanoi from Delhi and Kolkata.
