Following the return of LOT Polish Airlines to Bangkok with its route from Warsaw, the Polish carrier announced plans to launch codeshare operations with THAI Airways (THAI).

Both Star Alliance member carriers announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build upon the current interline partnership with the codeshare flights covering selected destinations in Europe, Asia, and Oceania starting in the 2027 summer season. Through the combination of the their networks, both LOT Polish Airlines and THAI intend to develop travel options between Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.

“The launch of direct scheduled services between Warsaw and Bangkok provides wide additional opportunities for those passengers who look for convenient access to the most beautiful cities in Thailand and beyond, across Asia, Australia and Oceania,” said Robert Ludera, Board Member, Chief Commercial Officer, LOT Polish Airlines. “Thai Airways is a natural partner for us in achieving this goal. Together, we can leverage the strengths of both networks while also encouraging passengers from Asia to discover Poland.”

“This MoU marks an important step in strengthening the connection between Thailand and Poland,” said Kittiphong Sansomboon, Chief Commercial Officer, THAI. “LOT’s new Warsaw–Bangkok service creates a strong platform for us to build on our existing relationship and take it a step further. Through the planned codeshare partnership, we see an opportunity to make travel between Europe and Asia more accessible, while giving passengers more options to discover destinations across both regions.”

According to LOT Polish Airlines, the next stage of the cooperation will involve signing a codeshare agreement followed by the technical and operational preparations required to implement the partnership.

THAI Airways recently launched thrice-weekly flights between Warsaw and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi on October 7 through the 25th before the flight schedules and frequencies will be adjusted. Until November 1, flights to Bangkok will operate five-times weekly, while the flights to Warsaw will operate four-times weekly. Services will be increased from November 2 to six times weekly.

Three weekly flights will be operated on the route during the summer season (March 28, 2027 and October 28, 2027).
