SWISS will expand its long-haul network with the addition of Bengaluru, India to its network, while bringing its new Airbus A350 aircraft to Shanghai.
During the upcoming northern winter 2026/2027 season (October 25 to March 27, 2027), SWISS will launch the new Zurich-Bengaluru route with five weekly flights (except Monday and Wednesday). The outbound flight LX140 will depart Zurich at 1320H and arrive at Bengaluru at 0255H the following day. The return flight LX141 will depart at 0450H and arrive back at Zurich later in the morning at 1050H.
While SWISS has not identified the aircraft to be used for the new route to Bengaluru, the southern Indian city will be the airline’s third destination in India after Delhi and Mumbai.
“We are delighted that, with Bengaluru, we will soon be providing our customers with another attractive and multi-faceted long-haul destination,” says SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger. “India’s Silicon Valley has a lot to offer both leisure and business travelers, and is also a perfect gateway for exploring Southern India. Our new Bengaluru service is particularly aimed at meeting the growing demand among the business community for direct flights to this major technology hub.”
Separately, SWISS will deploy its new A350 aircraft featuring the “SWISS Senses” long-haul experience on the Zurich-Shanghai route from September.
SWISS expects to grow its long-haul Airbus A350 fleet to a total of five aircraft by the end of the year. Currently flying to Boston and Seoul, the aircraft will also be introduced on its flights on the Zurich-Johannesburg route during the winter season.
