Cathay Pacific to launch flights to Almaty in January 2027

Cathay Pacific announced it will launch its new route to Almaty, Kazakhstan in January 2027.

From January 9, 2027, Cathay Pacific will operate three weekly flights (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday) on the Hong Kong-Almaty route. The outbound flight CX681 will depart Hong Kong at 1625H and arrive at Almaty at 2030H. The return flight CX680 will depart Almaty at 2150H before arriving back at Hong Kong at 0700H the following morning.

Airbus A330-300 aircraft will be used to the Hong Kong-based airline’s first destination in Central Asia. The new route will be the first direct flights from Hong Kong to the Kazakhstan’s largest city.

Previously in June, Cathay Pacific revealed plans to launch flights to Almaty as part of the airline’s commitment to growing Hong Kong’s connectivity with the Belt and Road countries. Along with being Central Asia’s most developed economy, Kazakhstan is Hong Kong’s largest trade partner and export market in the region.
