Korean Air announces booking migration and flight number changes ahead of Asiana integration

Ahead of the integration of Asiana Airlines into a unified Korean Air on December 17, Korean Air will begin transitioning Asiana Airlines bookings and flight numbers during November and into the start of December.


The phased accommodation process to convert Asiana Airlines (OZ) flight numbers to Korean Air (KE) flight numbers will take place between November 2 through December 3. It will apply to all passengers with Asiana Airlines bookings and tickets departing on or after December 17.


Korean Air stated the advance migration ensure service continuity and operational stability as Asiana Airlines flights transition to Korean Air operations. Bookings will be migrated in stages to safeguard system reliability. Passengers will be notified via SMS, mobile messaging platforms, and email with their updated itinerary and ticket details.


"Our main priority during this integration is minimizing disruption for our passengers and maintaining stable service. By rolling out these changes in phases and providing advance notice, we are committed to maintaining operational stability throughout the handover."


On a notice, Korean Air noted the flight number and flight booking information changes for domestic flights will take place on November 2, 9, and 16. Modification of international flights will take place on November 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 23, 24, 25, 26, 30, and December 1,2,and 3. The transfer of codeshare flights between Korean Air and Asiana will take place from December 7 and 9.

Once the flight number changes, Asiana Airlines noted that the existing flight schedule including the departure and arrival times, and aircraft type will remain unchanged. Ticket booking information and associated personal data will be transferred to Korean Air in accordance with relevant laws and use it solely for its original intended purpose.


After the completion of the flight number changes and transfer of ticket booking information, Asiana customers who need to change or refund their tickets are advised to contact their ticket agency or with Asiana on or before December 16. From December 17, passengers are advised to contact Korean Air.
