Korean Air to introduce Starlink on flights from September 15

Following its subsidiary Asiana Airlines’ own announcement, Korean Air will introduce SpaceX’s high-speed internet service Starlink on four widebody aircraft starting September 15.

According to Korean Air, Starlink has been installed on and will debut the four aircraft including 3 Airbus A350-900s and 1 Boeing 777-300ERs. The four aircraft will be deployed on medium and long-haul routes to destinations in the Americas, Europe, and Southeast Asia. In addition, the aircraft will also be deployed on key short-haul flights.

Before Korean Air’s announcement, Asiana had issued its own announcement of its rollout of Starlink starting on the same day (September 15). Starlink will be introduced on 10 widebody jets including 9 A350s and 1 A330s on select long-haul and domestic routes using the aircraft.

As part of the Korean Air-Asiana merger, Korean Air announced the introduction of Starlink on its group carriers in December 2025. While the Asiana brand will be phased out by December 16 of this year, Starlink will also be introduced on the group’s budget carriers Jin Air, Air Busan, and Air Seoul before their unification as Jin Air in 2027.

Korean Air aims to complete the fleetwide installation by the end of 2027.
