Malaysia Airlines to increase flights to Brisbane with the A330neo

As Brisbane welcomed Malaysia Airlines’ first flight to the city with the Airbus A330neo on August 16, the Malaysian flag carrier will gradually increase its flights to daily on the route by the end of October.

According to Brisbane Airport, Malaysia Airlines will increase its flights on the Kuala Lumpur-Brisbane route from five to six weekly from August 16. It will then be further increased to daily from October 25.

The A330neo will also be permanently deployed on the Brisbane route bringing some of Malaysia Airlines’ latest inflight cabin products and services to customers.

In a statement, Brisbane Airport Executive General Mananger Aviation Ryan Both welcomed the deployment of the first permanent A330neo service to Brisbane and highlighted the continued success of Malaysia Airlines’ services to the city.

“The arrival of the new A330neo is a vote of confidence in Brisbane, delivering the latest product and a quieter, and more efficient flying experience,” Both said. “These additional services will also provide more choice for travellers, strengthen links between Australia and Malaysia, and make it even easier for visitors to access Brisbane and explore everything Queensland has to offer.”

With the addition of Brisbane, Malaysia Airlines now deploys its A330neo on six routes and the third to Australia after Sydney and Melbourne. The other cities where the widebody jets are operated to Denpasar (Bali), Auckland, and Tokyo Narita.
