Philippine Airlines to add up to 20 Boeing 787-10s to fleet

Boeing and Philippine Airlines have announced the Philippine flag carrier will add up to 20 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft to its fleet.

During the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, Philippine Airlines signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the purchase of 15 787-10s with the option for an additional 5. Deliveries are expected to take place starting from 2031 through 2034.

According to Boeing, Philippine Airlines’ 787-10s will complement the airline’s fleet of 10 777 aircraft by expanding operational flexibility across the medium and long-haul route network.

The Boeing 787-10 will strengthen our medium and long-haul fleet, allowing us to provide an even better travel experience for our customers while improving operational efficiency and supporting our long-term sustainability goals," said Lucio C. Tan III, president and chief operating officer of PAL Holdings, Inc. "As Asia's first and longest serving airline, we proudly celebrated our 85th anniversary earlier this year. An equally meaningful milestone that we celebrate this year is 80 years of partnership between Philippine Airlines and Boeing." 

The new orders for the 787-10s will be Philippine Airlines’ first for Boeing aircraft since 2007.

The 787-10 is the largest variant of the 787 Dreamliner family. Capable of flying up to 13,890 kilometers, it has a capacity for 300-375 passengers. Onboard, it features the largest dimmable windows of any commercial jet, higher cabin humidity for less-dry air, and technology that helps reduce turbulence for a smoother journey.

Philippine Airlines will join a growing list of operators of the 787-10 the Asia-Pacific, which includes Singapore Airlines, Korean Air, EVA Air, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Etihad, Vietnam Airlines, and Saudia.
