Philippine Airlines to resume flights to Saipan on October 25

Philippine Airlines has set its return to Saipan after a nearly six-month suspension on October 25. The direct flights to the island in the Western Pacific was suspended due to damage sustained at the Saipan Airport after Typhoon Sinlaku in mid-April.

First announced on Instagram, Philippine Airlines through PAL Express will operate two weekly flights between Manila and Saipan will depart every Sunday and Wednesday. The first return flights will depart and arrive the following day (Monday, Thursday). Airbus A321 aircraft will be used on the route.

The outbound flight PR2571 will depart Manila at 1945H and arrive at Saipan the following morning at 0145H. The return flight PR2572 will depart Saipan at 0250H before arriving back at Manila later in the morning at 0505H.

Philippine Airlines’ service resumption to Saipan will restore the island’s lone air link to the Manila and the Philippines.

With the resumption of Philippine Airlines’ Manila-Saipan route, Saipan will be served with direct air links to four major cities in Asia. Direct flights are operated to Hong Kong by Hong Kong Airlines, and Seoul Incheon by Jeju Air. United Airlines resumed its flights to Tokyo Narita on August 2.
