Qatar has advised on aviation operators to identify alternate routes in light of current circumstances amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) issued Notice to Airmen (NOTAM), but had to issue a clarification following reports that the airspace over the State of Qatar was closed. It confirmed information circulated about the closure of the country’s airspace and suspension of flights as inaccurate.

“(NOTAM) is intended to identify alternative air routes to ensure the continued provision of air navigation services at the highest levels of safety and efficiency, in light of the current circumstances and in accordance with internationally recognized standards and practices.”

The recently issued NOTAM is effective June 7 through June 14.
