Malaysia-based travelers will be able to travel to the Vietnamese resort island destination of Phu Quoc with a new route from Kuala Lumpur by Sun Phu Quoc Airways.

Starting September 1, Sun Phu Quoc Airways will operate daily flights on the Phu Quoc-Kuala Lumpur route. According to the airline’s website, the outbound flight 9G751 will depart Phu Quoc at 1345H and arrive at Kuala Lumpur at 1620H. The return flight will depart Kuala Lumpur as 9G750 at 1720H before arriving back at Phu Quoc at 1755. Airbus A321neo aircraft will be used on the new route to Malaysia’s capital city.

According to Sun Phu Quoc Airways, Malaysia is currently one of the international tourist markets with great potential for inbound tourism to Phu Quoc. It is a major connection from Phu Quoc to one of Southeast Asia’s important aviation hubs.

“The new route is expected to expand Phu Quoc's accessibility not only to the Malaysian market but also create more opportunities to attract international travelers transiting through Kuala Lumpur.”

Kuala Lumpur will become the seventh international destination in Sun Phu Quoc Airways’ network from Phu Quoc. From the southern Vietnamese island, the airline currently operates flights to Taipei Taoyuan, Seoul Incheon, Hong Kong, Bangkok Suvarnbhumi, Chengdu, and Singapore.
