The Singaporean flag carrier will extend its current twice-weekly flights (SQ388/SQ387) between Singapore and Barcelona to add the onward service to Madrid from October 26. Using Airbus A350-900LH (Long Haul) aircraft, the Singapore-Barcelona-Madrid service will be operated five-times weekly (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays).
From Singapore, SQ388 will depart for Barcelona at 2330H before arriving at 0640H the following morning. An hour later at 0740H it will then continue onward to Madrid. The return flight SQ387 will depart Madrid at 1000H and arrive in Barcelona at 1115H. It will then depart again for Singapore at 1235H and arrive the following day.
Madrid will be Singapore Airlines’ second destination in Spain, and the 15th in all of Europe.

Along with the announcement of the new flights to Madrid, Singapore Airlines will also increase a current thrice-weekly service to London Gatwick (SQ314/SQ315) to daily from October 25. Singapore Airlines will increase its Singapore-Milan flights (SQ356/SQ355) from four-times weekly to daily from October 25. It will then cancel the thrice weekly Singapore-Milan-Barcelona flights (SQ378/SQ377) from October 27 as the Singapore-Barclona-Madrid service is launched.
A new thrice-weekly service to Munich (SQ340/SQ339) will be started from October 26. The airline will operate a combined 10 weekly flights to the German city.
Dai Haoyu, Senior Vice President Marketing Planning, Singapore Airlines said: “Europe is an important market for Singapore Airlines, and these adjustments reflect our commitment to it. We are seeing strong demand for travel to Europe, and increasing frequencies to key destinations such as Manchester, Milan, Munich, and London Gatwick in response. Madrid is also an increasingly popular tourist destination, as well as a financial and business hub. These new services will give our customers more choice and greater value when planning their travel.”
