Cebu Pacific announced it will be the first budget airline in Southeast Asia and Philippine-based carrier to introduce high-speed Wi-Fi to its fleet powered by Starlink.
The Philippine-based budget airline stated the rollout of the high-speed low-latency Wi-Fi will start in 2027. In addition to enhancing the passenger experience by enabling onboard activities such as HD streaming and onboard gaming, Starlink will also support improved operational connectivity for Cebu Pacific’s flight crews and operational teams to enable greater operational efficiency.
"Introducing Starlink marks another important step in delivering a better travel experience for every Juan," said Xander Lao, President and Chief Commercial Officer of Cebu Pacific.
Part of the IndiGo Partners portfolio airlines, Cebu Pacific’s fleet will be among the 1,000 aircraft to be installed across the group. Other portfolio airlines include Frontier, Wizz Air, Volaris, and JetSMART.
“Starlink will provide our portfolio airlines with reliable, high-speed connectivity, further enhancing the customer experience of flying on Wizz, Frontier, Volaris, JetSMART and Cebu Pacific,” said Bill Franke, Managing Partner of Indigo Partners.
Cebu Pacific joins other Asia-based airlines that have partnered with Starlink to provide inflight Wi-Fi including Korean Air, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, and ZIPAIR Tokyo.
