Philippines lowers fuel surcharge further to Level 8

The Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) is lowering the fuel surcharge for flight bookings in the Philippines to Level 8 for the last half of July, down from the current Level 9.

The Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) is lowering the fuel surcharge for flight bookings in the Philippines to Level 8 for the last half of July, down from the current Level 9.


In an advisory by the CAB published on July 13, the fuel surcharge for the period between July 16 to 31 will be Level 8. During the period the surcharge for domestic flights will be between PHP 253 to PHP 787, and from PHP 835.05 to PHP 6208.98 for international flights departing from the Philippines. All surcharges depends on destination and distance.


The applicable exchange rate to USD $1 for the period will go up from PHP 60.99 to PHP 61.43.


After reaching the second highest level of Level 19 in late April. The CAB has since lowered the fuel surcharge during the following months.


The 15-day implementation period is a temporary measure to better respond to the ongoing fuel situation due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East earlier this year, temporarily suspending the application of Section 2 and 3 of Part II. General Provisions, and Timetable under CAB Resolution No. 25 (2022).
