In an advisory published on July 26, the Philippine Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) announced the fuel surcharge will be at Level 9 for the period of July 1 through July 15. During the period, the fuel surcharge will be between PHP287 to PHP839 for domestic flights, and from PHP947.39 to PHP7044.27 for international flights departing from the Philippines. All surcharges depends on destination and distance.
The applicable exchange rate to USD $1 for the period will also be reduced from the current PHP61.62 to PHP60.99.
Since June 16, the current fuel surcharge at level 12 is between PHP389 to PHP1137 for domestic flights, and from PHP1284.40 to PHP9550.13 for international flights, depending on distance.
After reaching the second highest level of Level 19 in late April. The CAB has since lowered the fuel surcharge during the months of May and June.
The 15-day implementation period is a temporary measure to better respond to the ongoing fuel situation due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East earlier this year, temporarily suspending the application of Section 2 and 3 of Part II.
