Emirates to bring A380 to Delhi, A350 to Kolkata

Emirates will be bringing its flagship Airbus A380 aircraft to Delhi and the A350 to Kolkata by the end of October.

The Dubai-based carrier announced the A380 featuring a four-class configuration will be used on one of its four daily flights between Dubai to the Indian capital city (EK512/EK513 starting October 25. It will complement the retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft with the airline’s new Premium Economy seats currently used on the route.

Delhi will be the third destination in India that will be served with the A380, following Mumbai and Bengaluru.

On the same day, A350 aircraft will be deployed on the daily Dubai-Kolkata service (EK570/EK571). It replaces the 777 aircraft used on the flights, and increase the availability of Premium Economy seats across the 12 weekly flights on the route.

With the deployment of the A380 to Delhi and A350 to Kolkata, Emirates will be offering Premium Economy seats on six of its 9 routes to India. From October, Emirates’ Premium Economy will be available on the four daily flights to Delhi, 12 weekly to Kolkata, 22 weekly from Mumbai, 9 weekly from Ahmedabad, seven weekly from Bengaluru, and two weekly from Kochi.

Emirates currently operates 167 weekly flights to 9 cities in India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram.
