Due to “traditionally softer demand” in the upcoming quarter and an “incredibly challenging cost environment,” IndiGo is suspending flights on six international routes including Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Siem Reap.

The Indian budget carrier announced it will temporarily suspend operations to Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, and Shanghai starting July 1. Operations to Siem Reap will be suspended from July 3.

Each of the routes are suspended through September 30, and bookings will resume starting October 1.

IndiGo stated if the environment becomes favourable, it is prepared to reinstate the six routes earlier than scheduled in appropriate lead time.

“These steps reflect the airline’s proactive approach to managing capacity responsibly and minimizing inconvenience to customers, while maintaining readiness to respond quickly to favorable changes in the market conditions. To keep customers updated, IndiGo will be proactively informing the affected customers. Passengers are encouraged to check the latest flight information before planning their journeys.”

Despite the announced realignment, IndiGo stated it has managed to retain majority of its international operations serving over 1,800 weekly international flights.
