As Riyadh Air welcomed its first three Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, the new national airline of Saudi Arabia announced the launch of five new routes: Cairo, Dubai, Jeddah, Madrid, and Manchester. The airline will also move up the start of its flights to London.


During the ceremony celebrating the arrival of the new jets, Riyadh Air announced it would move forward its plans to launch its first regular commercial route to London Heathrow from July 1 to June 10.


Following the launch of its first regular commercial route to London Heathrow, ticket sales have opened for the airline’s routes to Jeddah starting June 14, Dubai from June 18, Cairo from June 25, Madrid from July 17, and Manchester from July 23.


Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air said: "Today is a momentous day for Riyadh Air as we open sales for Cairo, Dubai, Jeddah, Madrid, and Manchester. Following the arrival of our first three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, this is a major step in our journey to connect Riyadh to the world. But this is just the beginning of our rapid expansion; in the coming weeks we will also be announcing the opening of ticket sales to many more exciting destinations.”

Riyadh Air’s fleet now comprises of 4 787s, including one technical spare aircraft that has been used on its limited flights to London.
