Riyadh Air is opening ticket sales to the public for its flights between Riyadh and London Heathrow which will use its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Riyadh Air is opening ticket sales to the public for its flights between Riyadh and London Heathrow which will use its new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
Using the new 787-9 aircraft, Riyadh Air will introduce full-service daily flights between Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and Heathrow on July 1. The outbound flight RX401 will depart Riyadh at 0235H and arrive at Heathrow at 0730H. The return flight RX402 will depart Heathrow at 0935H before arriving back at Riyadh at 1805H.
The airline is currently operating flights between Riyadh and Heathrow using a technical spare, leased aircraft named “Jamila” as part of its Pathway to Perfect operational readiness program. Bookings for flights aboard the Jamila are available through Riyadh Air’s approved travel partners until June 30.

Douglas added that the airline plans to use the aircraft on its growing list of destinations Riyadh Air plans to serve including Jeddah, Cairo, and Dubai.

In 2025, Riyadh Air placed an order for up to 72 787-9s including 39 firm and options an additional 33 aircraft.
The new 787-9s feature Riyadh Air’s signature interior with four cabin classes – Business Elite, Business, Premium Economy, and Economy. The aircraft will feature Panasonic Aviation’s Astrova in-flight entertainment (IFE) system with over 500 movies and 600 TV partners, along with 1,000 audio albums and playlists. Members of Riyadh Air’s loyalty program Sfeer will also be able to enjoy complementary Wi-Fi access onboard the flights.
Business Elite and Business share a fully flat-bed 1-2-1 layout with AC Power USB-C and USB-A charging and immersive high-fidelity sound delivered directly into the headrests. Premium Economy’s 2-3-2 layout features privacy headrest wings, additional storage, expandable surfaces, and four USB-C charging points. Economy seats have a 6-way adjustable headrest and two USB-C charging points in a 3-3-3 configuration.
